25% Increase
Obamacare is blowing up…and that is a good thing. We need to fan the flames and get rid of this monstrous tax that tries to disguise itself as healthcare. Health insurance, even affordable health insurance, is not health care. Obamacare was never affordable. Now it is even less affordable. I had a patient today say he is dropping his health insurance altogether. Why? His rate went from around $400 a month to almost $1000. For himself!
Can we please have an honest look at a better way. The health ministries are flourishing and people seem very happy with them. Why can’t we learn from them?
My 63-year-old wife’s BCBS is going up to over $1,000/mo. I forced her to retire before I did in 2014 because the hospital was making her life miserable (now since the hospital was sold all the bitches who made her life miserable were fired)…I have Blue Medicare, so I pay 64.40/mo for Part D and don’t even take any Rx. I can see the meaning behind forcing people to have insurance…it helps public hospitals defray their losses, which are everything from overpaid staff doctors and CEOs to paying for unreimbursed care for gunshot wounds and overdoses in this huge Third World country the US has mutated into. But involving the damned insurance companies without brakes on premium increases was a huge mistake, because those bastards NEVER let themselves lose money. Free health care probably won’t work because stupid Americans need some skin in the game to keep from abusing it (increasing tax rate to 47% would pay for it, but as long 57% of every dollar goes to military spending that can’t happen). Meanwhile, in retirement I”m going to Charlottesville for the film festival next week and eat at C&O and Bodo’s!
Yes, but you will have to go to some doctor 30 miles away who has agreed to accept the pennies on the dollar reimbursements from the Obama-plans.
My office is a rural health clinic, so we get the Medicaid from 4 surrounding more affluent counties and our poor home rural county as well.
And yes, Mr. O’bummer, those on these plans tend to be sicker with multiple co-morbidities and poor health practices and limited family-economic resources.
Even if Obama-plans paid well, the time spent per patient would far outstrip the financial reward.
Time to go back to the drawing board.
Hey, with a single payer we could all unionize. Imagine saying…. “Hey Mr. Administrator, don’t talk to me about patient satisfaction scores, you need to talk to my Union shop steward….” The chance to say that would almost be worth the foray into a single payer system.
This is supposed to be a reply to Pat down below….
Now you do realize that the whole system is broken and Obamacare just failed to fix it, right? Repealing Obamacare won’t do shit.
Yes it will. Major medical. Pure catastrophic plans. Nothing else. Let people shop around but give them an affordable catastrophic safety net.
If you have a ‘low oil pressure’ light, do you pour sand in the gas tank?
The government needs to do a study on that procedure, assign it an RVU value, an ICD-10 code, but you will still need prior authorization to actually get sand after the $10,000 dollar deductible has been paid by the car owner.
????????????
Don’t sweat it, we’ll all get subsidies for the increased premiums.
