Access Controversy Revisited
Josh over at Atlas.MD was kind enough to respond to a lot of questions by people on the topic Access Controversy. I would love to keep the conversation going. Please take a look at his thoughts and grill him if you feel the need. It is in relation to recent Journal of the American Medical Association study which showed that patients with online access actually scheduled more visits. I don’t believe for a second a doctor will ever see these emails. As for coming to office for an exam, forget it. Dr’s never touch their patients nowdays. I see my Dr. three times a year, have had every test known to mankind but haven’t had a physical in close to 15 years. Not just me, all of my friends complain of the same thing. The office visit pretty much goes like this: “How are you today?”, “insert patient complaint”, “ok, get these tests done and I’ll see you in four months”. Seldom hear any test result but the insurance company sure gets billed. I’m giving up! Oh yes, I consider myself a very good patient, I never bother the office for anything. Wouldn’t do any good if I did.
