Begging for Quality

This just in:

“Physicians have until Dec. 31 to participate in the 2017 Merit-based Incentive Payment System, and can do so by collecting just one quality measure on one patient. Compliance would avoid a 4% negative payment adjustment to Medicare Part B claims in 2019.”

How pathetic is that?  One measure on one patient?  Yeah, we are really improving medicine with this garbage.  The program is so broken that they are now begging docs just to do one more thing and, yet, physicians aren’t doing it. It’s like doctors are just too stuffed and couldn’t even handle one more wafer…..because they can’t!!!

Even crap is becoming degraded; where will it end? Perhaps at the F&#^ it Event Horizon?

A cynical observer of the future suggests that the most important skill to be learned in college, for persons of both genders and all sexual proclivities, is development of one’s own techniques and skills in the provision of spirited oral pleasure to gentlemen. Such as skill may even be more useful than touch-typing.

Whether or not one stimulates one’s own desires as well is quite beside the point. Aptitude for such mechanical skills will be vitally important in the Merit-Based Information Systems of the future. Inability to perform because of personal quirks is not an option. The world is divided into those who can provide on command, and those who cannot.

If you are skilled at both practical arts, you are ready for the film and business industry. Perhaps that workshop can be integrated into the first year Anatomy classes in medical school. It certainly will be more useful than learning intubation or the emergency tracheotomy or such nonsense.

There seems to be an outburst of actual humanism in many occupations, where human beings are entirely disgusted and sick of being treated like objects, today’s #metoo movement. It seems to be directed towards dignity, individuality and respect. Beware – such movement have changed societies irrevocably. But also such movements have dried up or have been suborned.

    Which way do we choose?

Come on Doc, ‘it’s just a wafer thin mint!’.

How much more will they have you try and swallow before the end of the year? And just think, next year it’ll even be worse!
