CNN, Mexico, Birth Control
Please try to take politics out of this. Try to look at the lunacy instead. The headline on CNN went:
‘Trumpcare’ would send her to Mexico for birth control
There is more:
“It’s not that the Gonzalezes don’t have insurance; they have very good insurance through Ariana’s job as a high school teacher. The problem is that “Trumpcare,” as Ariana calls it, would probably run her health clinic out of town. It’s Planned Parenthood, which the Republican health care proposal defunds because it performs abortions.”
C’mon. Really? There are no other doctors she can go to? I don’t want to debate the merits or sins of Planned Parenthood but I will defend the need for primary care. Even the article states there are 20 Federally Qualified Health Centers for every Planned Parenthood and with great insurance why would she even need an FQHC clinic? Also, a generic Rx of Ortho Tricycle is $9 a month without any insurance.
Articles by CNN with this much hyperbole is what makes them look like idiots.
spot on!
Sorry for second post.
“Without easy access to birth control, Ariana became pregnant at 15. ”
OK, she got pregnant only for lack of easy birth control. It had nothing to do with a penis in a vagina. Got it.
“A doctor tried to convince her to have an abortion, saying she was one of countless teen moms he’d seen just that week.”
Embellishment much?
CNN seems good at finding a poster girl who does not represent the norm for 15 year old pregnant women. Typically they do not go on to higher education and become schoolteachers.
Her Home in El Centro California…… Location of ElCentro Regional Medical Center…… Where there are 9 Family Practice and 7 Obstetricians on staff.
And Trump is personally going to “Run her clinic out of town”… Such an old meanie that Trump.
The CNN piece is very slick and effective (misleading notwithstanding). This is what we are up against.
