NHS Having a Humanitarian Crisis?

The Red Cross has been helping out the National Health Service in England recently because of high demand of services.  The Red Cross “helps some hospitals with patient transport and provides care for patients who have returned home.”  Hmmm.  I can’t remember the last time the US has needed the Red Cross for this?  Even worse, it is unprecedented for a volunteer organization to criticize a government’s health system.  From the article:

“We have health care as a human right in this country – that’s what the NHS is for. The NHS needs the money now in order to care for everybody.”

Seems they have run out of money.
