Norman was big into humor as a healthy practice. Unfortunately he succumed to his illness despite his preference for the Marx Brothers movies.
After 33 years of this job I now strongly feel there are 3 arms to medicine:
1. Science based medicine
2. Evidence based medicine
3. Art based medicine
You need all three to be effective.
Can combine into disease approach ( specialist ) or patient focused ( primary care)!
Only number 2 can marginally be measured.
But no one arm on its own will end up a happy well patient.
No administrator or overload will ever understand this as they don’t do this job.
