Tsk, Dr. Doug. Emile Zola was the author of that quote. Van Gogh, whoever he was (!), picked it up after reading it (https://quoteinvestigator.com/tag/emile-zola/).
Not that changing the source diminishes the quote. And Lord knows you’ve displayed that anti-boredom attitude over your career. We often disagree, but our disagreements are never boring.
