OK so I visited the island of Kos in Greece last September. We went to the Aesculapium or whatever the place is called. (We also visited his plane tree or a descendant of that tree). The most interesting thing I learned was that in Hippocrates time, the patient would be counseled to have a correct type of dream, and if the patient failed to recover, the conclusion was that they were not having the proper type of dream to get well. They were basically told to dream better the next night, the onus was on them.
As Dave Barry would say, “..and I am NOT making this up.”
