Another Way to Get Rid of the Middleman

Take a look at this article in the American Medical News.   They discuss a “new” way doctors are negotiating directly with employers instead of insurance companies.  I love it!  Of course, it is not new.  Insurance companies haven’t been around that long.  The article doesn’t give the greatest spin on the concept because it isn’t like the physicians are making a killing on this concept.  That is because (I am sure)  the companies have hired the same idiots from the big insurers to do the negotiating for them.  So be it.  It still creates competition.  It is still “out-of-the-box” thinking, which is really old school economics.
