11 Percent

Amazingly enough, fast food (McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s and Pizza Hut) accounted for more than 11 percent of the calories in American adults’ daily diets. This is per a report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.   How scary is that?  I don’t have the full report in front of me but I don’t think this even scrapes the surface.   In the national survey, people were asked to recall the source of all the food they’d eaten in the past 24 hours and the response “restaurant fast food/pizza” was coded as “fast food.”  What about crappy processed food that makes up most of the other 89%?   Remember, DeGiorno Pizza?  It’s not delivery, it’s DeGiorno!  And it is fast food you freaking cook at home!
