Check out this article on the problems psychiatrists are having with some new codes. Basically, it is chaos right now and no one is getting paid.
But this year, changes to a mere 30 codes that affect mental health services have thrown a huge glitch into the system.
Can you imagine what will happen when the ICD-10 comes out? These psychiatry people are basically canaries in the coal mine for the hell that will come in 2014.
I’m looking forward to ICD-10. I’ll be retiring the day before it becomes mandatory. At 67 I’ll never recover the cost of switching so it will make it easy to hang it up. Bye, Y’all–don’t forget to turn out the lights.
