Quality for BCBS in Delaware
The above is part of what was sent to me by a reader of this blog. Here is what he said:
I thought you would enjoy the attached presentation that is being pushed by BCBS in Delaware. More of the same old worthless programs that administrators in health insurance and hospitals push to justify their own elevated compensation
These are only two of the slides taken from “Delaware State Health Care Innovation Plan”. From what I read, each slide is as ridiculous as the next. Pure administralian speak.
There is another slide that goes like this:
So, What Is In It For Me?
• Improved patient outcomes
• Access to real-time data — is an all-payor database in our future?• Reduced total cost of care, yet access to some of the savings
• Marcus Welby (part 2) — Practice is fun again
Improved patient outcomes? Never been proven. Access to real-time data? Doubtful. Reduced total cost of care, yet access to some of the savings? Yeah, right. Marcus Welby (part 2) – Practice is fun again? Are you f%cking kidding me? LOOK AT THOSE SLIDES!
All quality measures based on claims data?!?!
Dr Welby would be seeking early retirement.
Oh gosh! Isn’t that the plan for about 30-40% of the physician workforce?
Let the mid-level providers deal with it. See how quality fares under that system.
Dr. Welby is rolling over in his grave. After what just happened with the SGR bill (which most of our supposed physician societies supported), if Dr. Welby was alive, he’d be headed for retirement in Costa Rica.
