Texas Likes Them Some Direct Primary Care

I have said that the AAFP cannot really push for Direct Primary Care because it stands against everything DPC is.  Texas, being such an independent state, makes this video interesting.  This is going to be interesting.  A George divided against itself cannot stand.

Douglas Farrago MD

Douglas Farrago MD is a full-time practicing family doc in Forest, Va. He started Forest Direct Primary Care where he takes no insurance and bills patients a monthly fee. He is board certified in the specialty of Family Practice. He is the inventor of a product called the Knee Saver which is currently in the Baseball Hall of Fame.     DPC is an exciting concept. How do medical insurance companies, medicare and medicaid fit into the model?

      They don’t. Keep your medical insurance for catastrophes but none are build by the DPC clinics.

    It’s a tiger by the tail, DPC. The big MedIndustry organizations trying to deal with DPC is kinda like Gorbachev trying to deal with Glaznost & Perestroika in the 1980, get the Soviet Union under better control. The little guy won that one, and the Big Organization did the Big Stinky, imagine that….
