100,000 Join Obamacare in One Day
And that day was the Wednesday after the election.
Here is what the government said about this:
“That’s an indication of the intense demand for the kinds of offerings that are available to people at Healthcare.gov,” said White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest.
Not. The offerings suck.
Here is what the government should have said:
“Why didn’t these f&cking people join before? It’s about time! You would have changed the election.”
Americans are not easy to figure out. One thing for sure is that FOMO or fear of missing out is a real motivator. Alas, too little, too late.
Has anyone asked these people why they signed up so late in the year? Could it be they waited till the end of the year because last year when they didn’t have insurance they got socked in fines when tax season came around. Just say’in
If you don’t have a sense of humor, you shouldn’t be put in charge of ANYTHING.
Ms. Burwell’s experience in healthcare, or anything practical, is nil. Unless you count that her father was an Optometrist. She is Harvard educated, with a degree in government (that tells you something) who has only worked in government or sat on boards. She doesn’t know the difference between a suture and an a syringe yet she’s in charge. Her only claim to fame is that as a young 20-something Clinton staffer she was the one digging through Vince Foster’s trash looking for documents before the police could start their investigation into his death.
Maybe they know something we don’t. “Striking a balance” in Obamacare means broadening the coverage AND lowering the price. That’s what everyone’s after. The only drawback is that it’s magical thinking. If they can just lower the payments to doctors a little more, maybe that will do it…
