Why We Need Rules

This study is a few months old but I wanted to highlight some points here:

• Researchers analyzed the public speakers at 15 meetings of the FDA Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products Advisory Committee from September 2009 to April 2017 related to the approval of drug products. (The committee advises the FDA on anesthesiology and pain management drug products.)
• Nearly a quarter of public speakers at meetings of a Food and Drug Administration advisory committee had conflicts of interest, about 20% of which are undisclosed, a study finds.

There has to be some rules here.  How about some penalties for these people?  I am so tired of third parties and special interest groups having too much power.

As Walter Sobchak said in the Big Lebowski, “Has the whole world gone crazy? Am I the only one around here who gives a shit about the rules?!!”
