ZDoggMD Takes on the AMA
My friend, Zubin, did a great job with this: “AMA: Maybe we could teach medical students to adapt to this piece of shit that they call an EHR that is really a glorified cash register with a little patient stuff packed on?”

Unfortunately even once you find the physician impression, or more likely the NP’s impression, it is usually not helpful. I send the patient to the gastroenterologist with a complaint of abdominal pain, they see the NP and then have a diagnosis of abdominal pain, often with no reasoning or any idea of their thought processes. This is but another reason why I am retiring.
I used to read THE PLACEBO J. It was actually founded by Stewart Wolf who was chairman of Medicine at the U of Oklahoma Medical School when I was an intern there in 1959-60. Dr Wolf’s most famous remark (to me) was, “Who could possible give a Board exam” He was one of the few Chairman who never took his “Boards.”
You didn’t read the Placebo Journal then.
The admit note, the SOAP note, the focused ER note— Rest In Peace old friends. Now I sift through 10 pages of autogenerated drivel to locate the physician impression.
