Home Births

I think we need a NO SHIT, SHERLOCK category for this blog because this one would fit right in:

Newborns in the U.S. are much more likely to survive a hospital delivery than a planned home birth, regardless of how qualified the attending midwife may be, a new study suggests.

Researchers looked at mortality rates within 30 days of birth for newborns who were delivered by midwives, either at home or in a hospital, between 2010 and 2017.

Dr. Amos Grunebaum and colleagues found that on average, nearly 14 newborns per 10,000 live births died following planned home births – more than four times the rate for babies born in hospitals.

Tell me how many doctors do home births again? Yeah, none. Well, here is why. There is a 400% increase in deaths for this “practice”! OMG.

So here are some points that we have concluded here:

  • One, we are sure an OBGYN would be a better choice if you did a home birth because TRAINING and EDUCATION MATTERS!
  • Two, you wouldn’t get an OBGYN to do a home birth. You know why? Because they are not f&cking idiots.
