Quote of the Week: Pink Floyd

WISH YOU WERE HERE

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell?
Blue skies from pain?
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here
We’re just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here

Floyd was great! I don’t know how many concerts I went to, back when I had hair – Lots and lots of hair!

Having just had a “Senior” birthday, my Pink Floyd quote is, “And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking and racing around to come up behind you again….the sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death.”

We don’t need no education, we don’t need no thought control…
