Reminds me of a story my uncle (a G.P. in North of England years ago) told of a new mother complaining her baby wasn’t sleeping thro’ the night. Assuming this was related to the mother’s anxiety my uncle suggested “Have you tried some Guinness?” The mother returned some time later for another matter & my uncle asked if the Guinness had been helpful & she said “Oh yes, I give him a drop at night & he sleeps right through|.”

ACE inhibitors were developed from snake venom. Initially a protein, eventually chemicals were synthesized that affected the same receptor, and with better oral uptake. Every venom on the planet has been examined since.
