As cognitive dissonance goes, this is a classic. President Biden’s explicit policy goal is to reduce U.S. oil and gas production, limiting the global supply of fossil fuels in the name of fighting climate change. Yet his Administration is now imploring the OPEC oil cartel to pump more oil so U.S. gasoline prices don’t rise more than they already have on Mr. Biden’s watch.

If you are claiming you want to limit fossil fuel use here (and shutting things down like pipelines and such) then you can’t ask OPEC to pump more across the ocean.

Weather changes, climate over a thousand or more years might too with intervals of warm and cold,maunder minimum medieval warm period. China has 4 to 6000 years of weather records and it has not varied much. Usual cycles as science currently understands it..Melankovich cycle.
What is the right amount of Carbon Dioxide that feeds plants. Last 30 years due to higher levels of carbon dioxide plants have thrived,cropyields have increased and we easily feed all 7.9 billion people.. We were at 180 ppb of carbon dioxide at 150 plants start to die.. Plants die, so do people..400ppb or 1000 ppb which is better.
There has not been any problems. Lots of climate folks are making lots of money off their bogus claims.
EVERYTHING IS A BUSINESS MODEL.. Disasters,end of world , SELLS..Predictions of DOOM are Big bucks..
For Government, news papers, web sites.. varous business interests.. FOLLOW THE MONEY.
We have 500 years of coal supplies in West Virginia, plus all the coal in Pennsylvania,Wyoming,Kennetucky,
New Mexico…
We have a million years worth of Thorium for electric production for molten salt reactors plus we can burn all the nuclear waste we have from uranium and plutonium reactors.
We run out of oil or gas? We have another thousand years of petroleum have not yet found in deep oceans.
Want a lower populaton? Just Urbanize. In cities women have fewer children. Studes and the last 100 years has shown this.. Global population is slowing and will drop. We will not reach 9 billion.
There is much left to learn.. Much still to do,explore,become..
C’mon, Doug. One is short-term. The other is long-term. Like the difference between weather and climate. There’s no contradiction here.
There’s plenty of legit criticism to level at Biden. No need to find a straw man.
You sip a milkshake fast or slow. It still gets less and less. And it’s all one big milkshake.
If you’re starving, you want more than one milkshake, and you want them fast. But you also know that in the long run you should probably wean yourself off milkshakes completely.
I guess. Especially if I want votes.
