Noble Lies About COVID Are Still Lies
Here is an article in left-leaning Slate that you should read. The subheading of the piece is:
Do we want public health officials to report facts and uncertainties transparently? Or do we want them to shape information to influence the public to take specific actions?
Ummm, we want facts. Shape information? That’s called manipulation.
Talking about Fauci:
Such high-profile mixed messages in a short time frame, without substantive new data to justify the change, generated confusion and a backlash from politicians, other experts, and the general public.
More from Fauci himself:
When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent. Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, “I can nudge this up a bit,” so I went to 80, 85.
The article goes on to talk about more noble lies. Read it. Their summary:
Noble lies are a trap. We cannot predict the public’s behavior, and loss of trust is devastating. The general population is far too skeptical to blindly follow the advice of experts, and far too intelligent to be easily duped.
This is why people have LOST THEIR TRUST!!
Here’s super popular liberal Amy Siskind (From her website: Defender of democracy, activist for women’s rights, and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, Amy Siskind is best known as the author of The Weekly List and as President of The New Agenda, a non-profit dedicated to the advancement of women.)
There are so many more of these hypocrites who hammered the vaccine and then clutch their pearls when people are suspicious. YOU DID THIS! LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!!
Listen, you can be on ANY side you want as far as COVID origins, COVID treatment, vaccine necessity, mask usage. I don’t care. I got the Moderna vaccine. What I do care about is the loss of trust in science due to assholes lying. And for Fauci to do that, well, then he’s an asshole.
(The image is the bobblehead doll of Fauci. What he is doing with his hands is asking us to flatten the curve. Remember that mantra? Yeah. Well, they moved the goalposts. Another noble lie. That resulted in loss of trust).
The Fauci doll.
Is he illustrating how high the bullshit was piled?
It’s great to say that you want to hear the truth. Unfortunately people don’t know the truth even when they hear it. Evidence is that people hear that ivermectin will cure covid and just about every other kind of disease known to mankind, to hear some talk. Manipulation is part of the universe. How many times in your medical practice have you used manipulation to get patients to be compliant with their meds or treatments? As a paramedic I used manipulation to get patients to allow us to take them to the ER before they die as they are afraid of medicine and not trusting of anything we are going to do. Manipulating the public to take a vaccine that will help more people than it will hurt seems to be necessary in our society. Too many people believe the lies being spread by every media outlet on both sides of the argument. We need to think about what’s best for our society and not get all wrapped up in who’s telling the truth and who’s manipulating people. Even though I hate it, sometimes… The end does justify the means. Self-righteousness only goes so far. Then we have to deal with reality. The truth will not set you free in every case.
“The end does justify the means.” When it involves health care and government force, that statement is a invitation to great evil. I’ll pass.
The trouble is that you can’t claim on the one hand to support science and on the other to give different numbers depending on what you think people are ready to hear. It diminishes credibility.
If you disagree with the ancient and valid adage, “the end cannot justify the means”, then you are disagreeing with the other ancient and valid principle that “cause and effect are related”. The reasoning which ties this scientific principle to the moral statement isn’t terribly difficult to grasp, but it IS usually ignored. Lying isn’t just a good idea, it’s now the law.
I always thought it would be fun to have a Fauci bobblehead in the back yard for target practice, but I wouldn’t want that authoritarian piece of shit to get a dime from me.

“Every crisis becomes a religion if it lasts long enough.
One factor in that transformation is the Beautiful Theory phenomenon: the power elite insists its remedies are logical and politically correct so they must work, even if the actual evidence shows they obviously don’t.
When Beautiful Theories crash into hard, cold reality and shatter, faith is the glue used by the elites to put their precious ideas back together. They need militant faith to get the job done: true believers eager to crush doubt and compel obedience by making war on the infidels.
Some are swept into the faith because they desperately crave a sense of control over the crisis. They need to believe Something Can Be Done, and they’d rather invest their faith in debunked Beautiful Theories than have no faith at all. Faith is a coin that demands to be spent.”
