Dr. Doug! Pls consider yourself More Than Welcome to Stop On by any (or all!) of all us Dept of Health & Human Services (HHS) agencies that you will be passing on your way down to ole Virginny. Southern hospitality starts here in Maryland (CMS; SAMHSA; AHRQ; FDA; PSC; HRSA; NIH; I.H.S.), and carries on into DC (OS; OGC; ONC; CFBNP; all the Asst Sec’trs). Then, cross the Potomac and you will be in Virginia, Birthplace of Presidents. JUST DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE NOTE OF ALL THE HUMOROUS, HILARIOUS THINGS YOU HEAR AND SIGHTS YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY! We all are looking forward to more Authentic Medicine: Virginia-style!
You will find Virginia to be like Maine — only different.

Good luck on the move, Doug. Change is usually a good thing. It keeps us from becoming too complacent.
God bless Alan Alda and all those involved with this show, which produced an entire generation of doctors with a deep distrust of authority and a conviction that our job is what’s good for the patient.
