PBMs Combining
Express Scripts will pay $29.1 billion for Medco Health Solution and the merged company will handle pharmacy benefits for about 155 million people and hold an estimated 40% of the PBM (pharmacy benefit managers) market. Oh, man, life is going to get rougher. These pains-in-the-asses will make it even harder to prescribe a medication that they don’t like (i.e. the ones they don’t have a back room deal on). Remember the good old days when doctors chose the medications for their patients? Well, these are the idiots who helped change that and now they are getting stronger.
