Toilet Paper Wars
We really have two choices with the impending COVID-19 viral spread. We, as a people, can come together to help each other or we can fall into the trap of “every man/woman for the themselves”. The politicians, in this election year, have chosen their course, which is disgusting. In Australia, it seems toilet paper wars are all the rage.
We can do better.

It’s getting far, far worse in Seattle. The Governor closed all the schools in the metro Tacoma-Seattle-Everett area, for SIX WEEKS.
There is panic buying all over Western Washington. The shelves are empty. And I don’t mean toilet paper, I mean everything. Food across the board. Produce bins are empty.
If you know the Costco, or probably a Sam’s Club or similar warehouse store. The lines snake from the registers to the other end of the store.
I shit you not.
From my read, the increase in number of coronavirus deaths in the USA is levelling off. CDC today reports 41 deaths nationally, with, I think 47 states reporting. 37 of those deaths in Washington State. I recall about 19 from one nursing home.
I think there will be more damage from panic, than from the disease.
“We can do better”
damn right……..Our Wal-Mart brawls are far scummier than any Aussie brawl.
Besides, this is the way to save on toilet paper.

My uncle told me that joke, I think back when McKinley was President.
I’m at a loss to explain the toilet paper wars.
The politicians are handling this in their usual manner, namely to criticize the opposite side and defend their own. But it’s more than just the politicians, even in the media much of the focus seems to be on the politics of the issue and obsession with aspects that seem to me to be relatively minor. On social media it’s the usual partisan battles.
