Back in the day in the early mid 80’s, there was a med school classmate who hosted a St. Holland’s day party at his girlfriend’s rented house or apartment. Everyone was invited to break open the keg of beer and have fun. Yeah, it took place on St. Patrick’s day but it was fun that the host called it “St. Hollands” day.
Glad I had the self imposed rule not to drink after 11 o’clock so I could drive home semi-sober in the very early hours after the party was done. It wasn’t far to drive to my apartment and I didn’t get caught. Those were the days in med school and residency
