Don’t laugh. I developed bad dry eye when I aged into my late 50’s. I should have known as I couldn’t tolerate “hard” or later in life “soft” contact lenses when I was a younger teen/adult. After 6 hours my eyes would be killing me. My mom suggested it might help my vision and she wore contacts without problem.
Restasis (and other drugs) came out just at the time my condition got “bad” and was a “Godsend”. The OTC “moisturizers” and doxycycline could only do so much. When I retired, the so called supplemental insurance didn’t want to cover it so I stopped using it. I had taken Restasis and other eye drops for many many years and I was able to go without them. Wouldn’t mind getting another script now for it as I do have some low-level irritation that I can tolerate but would probably be better with an anti inflammatory drop.
