Just So You Know: The Insanity of Men Competing With Women is Endorsed by Many Doctors and Medical Organizations
The delusion is spreading just like a social contagion. These idiotic doctors not only think we should do surgery on kids but also that transgender “women” should be able to DESTROY sports for girls.
The bans may have consequences for the health of trans youth, according to a new perspective by a group of pediatric sports medicine physicians and health services researchers published in JAMA Pediatrics. “A large body of research has demonstrated that physically active youths have improved mental health outcomes, greater self-esteem and social supports, increased school retention rates, and lower risks for chronic disease and teenage pregnancy,” the authors write, noting their concern that the bans could contribute to “lasting deterioration of the physical and mental health of this at-risk population.”
So, that’s a study? Being active is good for the brain, self esteem, etc? No shit. The conclusion, obviously, is to let this tiny minority parpicipate in girl’s sports (it’s never a trans man competing in men’s sports) so they could ruin it for the MAJORITY. In that way the real girls lose self-esteem and get depressed.
And who else supports this garbage?
The American Academy of Pediatricians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association are all pro transgender youth participation in sports. And it’s important for us, as a bigger group, to advocate for their rights and their overall well-being. From what we can understand from this literature, this is important for them, and we want to make sure we protect their access to sports as a whole.
I am all for being active. They need to create sports just for transgender women (if you believe this exists) ONLY. Instead, this garbage study gets put out as a political talking point in order to destroy and make a mockery of women’s sports. And the AAP, AAFP and AMA lent their name to it. Good job, as always.
IMHO what is going to have to happen if we want change, is women are going to have to forfeit games. Tough medicine, and hard on the (biological) female athletes. Thing is, that is what had to happen with segregated college sports a generation ago. Segregated college (usually Southern) played integrated college (usually Northern), and segregated college demanded that integrated college bench a black player.
Mid-20th century there were games forfeited when the integrated college refsed to play under such a stipulation.
Granted that really sucks for the forfeiting players. But that is what was necessary to make changes. And I’d rather be known as the athlete or team that forfeited, rather than the gutless wonders who chose to bench the black player. Because many colleges chose to play along with the segregated college rather than take a principled stand.
What is amzing to me is the the absolute silence by feminists on this issue. They fought for years to equalize opportunity for women in sports(i.e. Title IX) and now there is nothing from them when these policies erase all that work. Unfathomable!
They have split humanity into pro trans and pro suicide so compassionate feminists gets silenced. I don’t get it. Why not teach some anthropology so people know how much gender is a construct of culture, not biology. Why not treat the few biological aspects like height? – men have more but all men don’t have more than all women. How is it feminism was just beginning to break away from the centuries long notion that men can decide what it means to be a woman, and now we let boys decide. How is it we never managed to teach the dangers of stereotyping and subconscious bias before the trans movement even began? Really feminism never got as far as anti racism and has long since stopped having an impact. Just look at any comments about wage gaps in FFS. People defend FFS as if our billing guides perfectly measure work in order to argue against any possibility that subconscious bias could increase patient expectations and therefore the work or time it takes to complete a visit. (I used to think it was a small difference but then I moved to a community that might call itself progressive but the difference is vast!)
The AAP, AAFP and AMA are wrong in a way that puts our patients in danger. There are better ways to treat all of our patients with compassion and kindness. Our profession needs to protect our patients, which means protecting women, protecting girls, and protecting those with gender dysphoria. We need better language and better definitions. We need nuanced medical definitions. Medically we must know the patient’s actual gender, prior medical and surgical treatments, as well as their desired gender identity, and care for all patients with compassion. We also need legal definitions. We must also protect women and girls from men who might prey upon them, sometimes by feigning gender dysphoria in order to invade spaces where women are vulnerable in order to prey upon them. Women and girls have a right for spaces, such as locker rooms, changing rooms, and bathrooms that exclude people with male genitals, so we need a kind and dignified way to provide safe spaces for those with gender dysphoria also, especially those whose bodies don’t match their identities. Athletes who have gender dysphoria should not compete with women and girls, but should be able to be athletic. Children do not have the capacity for informed consent, and basing medical treatment only on the wishes of children is inappropriate and unethical. Affirmation only policies are unethical. Withholding information from parents about their children’s gender perceptions is unethical, especially if it means preventing parents from knowing their child is at increased risk of self harm. The AAP, AAFP and AMA do not represent me, are not advocating for what is best for my patients, and are not recommending ethical standards of care. Shame on them. We can provide appropriate care to all without promoting hate or being unkind. We must do better
Right on.
I find it unusual that the official position of the American Academy of pediatrics on vaccine hesitancy is to dismiss the patient from the practice if the parent will not allow full vaccination without exception. There has been repeated calls even in Texas for pediatricians to notify child protective services if patients are not fully vaccinated. This becomes odd in juxtaposition because they think that those same children should be able to choose their genital alignment and their definition of self. I suspect that having genitals mutilated and chemical castrations below the age of 18 are more dramatic physiologic changes than those introduced by a DTap vaccine .
Education has nothing to do with common sense or morality. You either have common sense and morality or you don’t. It’s just at t that simple.
Anyone who supports this insanity has some serious issues.
