Quote of the Week
If you want to succeed in the world you must make your own opportunities as you go on. The man who waits for some seventh wave to toss him on dry land will find that the seventh wave is a long time a coming. You can commit no greater folly than to sit by the roadside until some one comes along and invites you to ride with him to wealth or influence.
John B. Gough
So luck and connections have nothing to do with “success”? Not to mention such variables as genes, race, class, etc? This sounds a whole lot like the mantra of the SelfRighteous who have had some “success”, the Romneys of the world if you will. They tend to believe that their “sucess”, however defined, is due to their own specialness and sweat, and that anyone less “successful” is just getting what they deserve.
