Face Time

So a new study confirmed that “increased use of health IT by healthcare providers results in a decrease in face-to-face interactions with patients.” How is this news to anybody? It definitely shouldn’t be to anyone who reads this blog and my Look At The Patient tip. This is where healthcare is going….if we let it. We don’t have to.

By the way, I found this line in the report to be hysterical:

However, the report highlighted a five percent increase from 2010 to 2012 in the number of healthcare providers who spent no time with patients face-to-face.

Are you kidding me?
