Compassionate Convictions

Crazy times out there, kiddies.  COVID and the great sprawling controversies of “vaccine consciousness” are cooking up some odd stories.

Item:  German officials reported that an “Anti-vax nurse injects 8,600 with saline instead of COVID vaccine.”  “It’s unknown why the shot-blocker — reportedly a Red Cross nurse — had injected people with blanks; however, she had reportedly broadcast anti-vax views on social media, investigators reported.”  Well that’s obviously a criminal act, particularly presuming that the injected were unaware of the fakery.

Item: “A homoeopathic doctor in California became the first person in the United States to face federal charges over fake COVID-19 immunizations and falsified coronavirus vaccine cards

“Doctor” Juli A. Mazi was purportedly selling “immunization pellets from the doctor that ‘contained the COVID-19 virus and would create an antibody response.’”

These were claimed to provide “lifelong immunity to COVID-19… She also allegedly encouraged customers to purchase the pellets by claiming the FDA-approved vaccines contain ‘toxic ingredients,’ and said children could also take the pellets, as the ‘dose is actually the same for babies.’”

What seemed to upset the FBI more is that she was showing patie-, uh, clients how to forge vaccination cards, complete with lot numbers and dates, for the Moderna vaccine.  I can certainly see why Moderna would be upset about this and even claim potential damages.  But the FBI – which seems to have nothing more pressing, ahem – assures us that faking a vaccination card is a federal crime.  Yeah, the cute little cards have the CDC logo on them.  But do they really need to make a federal crime out of that?  FBI spokesperson Siobhan Johnson tells us that, “If people are selling fraudulent vaccine cards, they are endangering everyone.” Everyone, really?

“Dr.” Mazi is obviously a charlatan of poor character, but the stupid clients to whom she peddled pellets and gave fake cards obviously knew they were not vaccinated – who exactly was unknowingly harmed?  If you patronize a homeopath, crystal purveyor, at-home birthing doula, or neighborhood shaman, aren’t you accepting whatever “care” you purchase?

Item: “At least 664 colleges and universities now require proof of COVID-19 inoculations,” and some of the little darlings are upset that some of their classmates might not be following the herd.  “Benjamin Mason Meier, a global health policy professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, questions how institutions can verify those records… [citing] several students who were worried about the accessibility of fraudulent vaccine cards and that they knew a fellow student who had submitted one to the university.”

But other university staff and faculty have expressed their concern over the alleged forgery of vaccine cards. No doubt fighting for tenure, “Rebecca Williams, a research associate at UNC’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention … said ‘This is why I think the development of a reliable national digital vaccine passport app is very important for the sake of all the organizations and businesses that want to require proof of vaccination for employees, students, or business patrons.”  Why exactly are we concerned about the virus fears of those students statistically more likely to die of binge drinking in college than of COVID-19?

Item: The wildly successful city administrations of San Francisco and New York are moving to require proof of vaccination status to enjoy indoor venues like bars, restaurants, and sporting events.  Presumably, shooting up in a homeless camp or taking a dump on the sidewalk do not require such documentation, as those activities are not as threatening to the general public.  But why, exactly, are so many of the vaccinated worried about the un-vaccinated?  Yeah, I get that a smaller degree of herd immunity increases the chance for a mutant strain to emerge, but the Delta is already out of the barn, over the hill, and took a bus to Seattle.  And while its’ great (really!) that the vax seems to lessen the severity and length of symptoms from Delta, it does not appear to reliably prevent infection.  So how are the unvaccinated any special threat to the vaccinated that justifies the use of medical force?  And let’s face it gang, medical force is precisely what the cabal of government, media, academia, Big Pharma, Big Tech, and corrupt, traitorous organized medicine reps are all pushing.  Saying so does not make me an anti-vaxxer, so anyone about to accuse me of such can (insert indecorous suggestion).

The German nurse was clearly engaged in unethical, almost certainly criminal behavior, and was actively deceiving her patients.  No one will defend that.  But local governments, fascistic crony corporatists, and nervous people demanding that their neighbors adopt their attitudes and choices will encourage some to use huckster homeopaths and phony card offers.  But how exactly are these silly people any threat to the herd, apart from hurting the feelings of the herd members?

For the benefit of you snipes in the cheap seats, I AM NOT CONDONING ANY OF THIS.  Any physician so publicly advocating any of these outside-the-lines attitudes would likely have their career disintegrated by the Federation of State Medical Boards, or their benevolent state medical board minions – and I still have a mortgage to pay off.  I’m just trying to understand how someone with a fake vaccine card i.e. unvaccinated is any significant threat to everyone else bellying up to the bar, and why that justifies those of us on the side of all that is approved and righteous to force a medical treatment upon them.

If you want state-approved courage, look no farther than that exemplar of medical ethics, former Surgeon Admiral Jerome Adams.  This paragon of brilliance told us a year and a half ago to avoid masks, and everyone believed him.  Then, without the hindrance of any supporting data, he told us all that we all had to mask up, even in the shower, and everyone embraced him.  Now we can all hug Admiral Adams, his extraordinarily high doofus titer notwithstanding, when he exclaims, “We need to help people understand that this freedom argument is bunk. I mean, at the end of the day, we are losing freedoms because people are unvaccinated.”

As Admiral Adams demonstrates, the purpose of the post-modern, 21st Century physician is to protect the collective against the uninformed and the uncooperative – for their own good, of course.  The rest of us, patients and doctors alike, can just get in line with our papers until told where to go.
