Mixed Messages on the Virus
I want this virus done. Five million have died. We have helped curb it with a novel vaccine and I am all for it for most people. I also get that it is hard to measure someone’s antibodies if they have had CV19 and to figure what the right number is to say they are protected. We are still working through this.
Oh, and I understand that we don’t want to say we are free and clear of this thing or else some of the neediest people will not get the booster.
I get all of this.
But I just want this virus done. I want the mask police and distance police gone. I want politics out of medicine. I want scientists not to tell noble lies.
This all being said, I still laugh at images like the above from AOl. I read it as Fire! Fire! Fire! Reason for optimism?

Enjoyed being in a sold-out stadium yesterday for the annual Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville. And apart from the Gators getting their asses badly kicked, it was wonderful seeing such a huge crowd, massive tailgating excellence (f**k high LDL’s anyway), plenty of imbibing, crystal blue skies, and hordes of maskless fans yelling their heads off and having the time of their lives.
Yes COVID is real and killed a lot of people, but those still wanting to hide in the house and those still trying to scare us all from living our lives should be ignored.
