Joseph Stalin And the Covid-19 Pandemic

We in the West are still trying to deal with the creations of Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili, born 1878, known to the world as Joseph Stalin. He was a man of many talents but also many demons, having been brutalized by his father and his wife dying after one year of marriage. He was extremely bright, an excellent writer and a gifted poet. After spending years in an Orthodox seminary, Stalin found a new and lifelong obsession, Marxism, and believed the individual should be subservient to the needs of the state.
He first met Lenin in 1905, and within years because of his writing talent became editor of Pravda, the party’s propaganda outlet. In 1922 he
rose to general secretary of the Communist party then later absolute dictator after he most likely secretly caused the death of Lenin’s Chief of Staff and a few years later Lenin himself (Ref.1).
After obtaining absolute power Stalin created poison and later biological warfare labs to be able to kill at will. But, when appropriate, it had to be done mysteriously. It was routine to murder Russian citizens as test subjects while perfecting these poisons (Ref. 2). Because of Stalin these secret labs, allowing deniability, became an integral part of Communist ideology.
Stalin was extremely shrewd; he was able to spread Marxism into Eastern Europe militarily as conquered lands from the Nazis at the close of WWII. After the war he chose, funded, and equipped Marxists in North Korea and China to takeover and rule those countries. In China, Mao Zedong like Stalin had no problem killing millions, i.e., “The Great Leap Forward” (Ref.3). After Mao’s death, Deng Xiaoping liberalized the economy with great success and unlike Mao shared authority. However, he was responsible for the mass murder in Tiananmen Square, 1989 (Ref.4).  Deng’s idea of shared leadership is now gone with the rise of Xi Jinping who is a strongman in the Stalinist tradition.
Like Russia, Communist China has maintained super-secret biowar programs as part of the Peoples Liberation Army (Ref.5). One of these labs is secretly in collaboration with a supposedly purely Communist research lab, the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) (Ref.6).
Adding to this lethal mix was Drs. Fauci and Collins pursuit of gain-of-function research.  This involves making known disease-causing viruses more dangerous by genetic manipulations (Ref.7).  The rational was, by knowing how an infectious agent was manipulated in the lab making it more dangerous to humans, should this specific change occur in nature, we would be better prepared to fight against it.  A questionable idea as in nature it is impossible to predict exactly what genetic changes would take place.  The danger of these ideas was questioned years go as the possibility of a lab leak could lead to a worldwide pandemic, which most likely is what happened (Ref.8). It is difficult for many doing viral research to be objective about the source of the Covid-19 virus as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the major funder for their research.  However, a lab leak being the source of the Covid-19 virus is gaining recognition despite the best efforts of the Chinese government and most unfortunately the leadership of our NIH who helped fund the WIV and transferred expertise by collaborations with U.S. labs (Ref.9,10,11). The Covid-19 virus has a Furan binding site enhancing its disease potential. Other beta-coronavirus do not have this, the main question where did it come from? (Ref.12).
A combination of Communist China’s obsession with bioweapons and secrecy along with financing and transferring of knowhow from the NIH and probably an unintentional lab leak arguably led to the Covid-19 pandemic with its millions of deaths and serious societal disruptions.
Without Stalin’s success in making China a Communist state along with secret labs developing weapons of death and a naive misunderstanding of the workings of a Communist state by scientists in the U.S., this pandemic probably would not have occurred.
