Chief Medical Officer Fights Back Against the Hospital Administration and Makes Major Positive Changes for the Employed Doctors

.

What a great story. It is so nice to see employed doctors getting some respect. The new CMO, Carl Schlempful, MD was able to show the hospital administration at Lakeland and Scott Memorial Health System the value of their employed physicians.

“I told them, point blank, you can fire me from this position or even from my job but I am not letting you devalue our doctors anymore!” Dr. Schlempful said.

As CMO, Dr. Schlempful convinced the administration to give reasonable work hours for each doctor. They were now fully staffed and each doctor was only going to see 8 to 10 patients per day. This was a major win in solving the burnout issue. In addition, physicians were now in control of their own clinic as far as hiring employees, setting up their schedules, and how much administrative work they will have to do.

“I also showed the CEO and CFO that the family docs should also be paid more and they agreed. What a win for the team!”, Dr. Schlempful added.

DPC News wants to thank Dr. Schlempful for sticking up for his doctors and NOT selling out for his CMO position. It’s a rare thing. To read the whole story just click HERE.
