The first mostly non-human-run McDonald’s is open for business just outside Fort Worth, Texas. Your job as a doctor is next!
Warning: this is a true story. You can read it here but the part about replacing doctors is not true yet. But it’s coming.
Here are some highlights from this article:
The goal of the test is to improve order speed and accuracy.
Customers can pick up their meals in a drive-through “order ahead lane” or order at the touchscreen kiosk inside the store.
McDonald’s called the concept “more seamless than ever before”.
Speed. Accuracy. Seamless. These words are typically used by administrators and they will be doing the same at hospitals and big corporations as soon as they can get away with it. Hogwash, you say? With all the AI stuff you see exploding on the internet and you still doubt this?
Be prepared. Go independent. Do Direct Care. You have been warned.
I remember when they instituted an AI machine to pull tapes on a job I had with the state. The tapes we had to retrieve often got stuck. I refused to go in the vault to manually retrieve them. Trust me AI is not perfect.
