Please Purchase Dr. Rebekah Bernard’s Follow-up Book Called Imposter Doctors: Patients at Risk
Three years ago Dr. Bernard’s published, Patients at Risk: The Rise of the Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant in Healthcare, and luckily for us, she is NOT stopping. Please consider purchasing Imposter Doctors: Patients at Risk, and leave a review. Why? Because the militant NPs are on a rampage about this. Dr. Bernard has put her career on the line to explain what is going on with professional appropriation. It is so bad that I just saw that chiropractors, NPs, and PAs reading X-rays and CTs now as hospitals use them to replace radiologists.
From a recent news interview with Dr. Bernard:
“While studies show that non-physician practitioners can provide excellent care when working closely together with physicians, there is no data proving safety or efficacy when physicians are removed from the equation altogether,” said Rebekah Bernard, MD, President of Physicians for Patient Protection (PPP). “Unfortunately, corporations are replacing physicians for one reason: to increase profits. Patients must understand the training and education of those providing their care to better advocate for themselves.”
Through each chapter, Imposter Doctors provides a comprehensive examination of the issues surrounding non-physician practitioners and their impact on the healthcare system, including the creation of the physician shortage, the rise of private equity corporate healthcare, virtual mental health care by psychiatric nurse practitioners, diploma mills and more.

I decided to check out the negative reviews for the book on Amazon. The first, by Dr Alden Bush, was scathing. I looked up ‘Dr’ Bush; he’s an NP, the personification of the problem addressed by the book. Unfortunately, there is no way to comment on a comment.
What a surprise that must have been…..
Purchased two of Dr Bernard’s books. One for me and one for my local state representative who will ultimately have to voting on bills , (hopefully against) ,designed to remove physician supervision for midlevels in Louisiana.
Good idea. Not that I’m entirely sure my local representatives can read
Please cite exactly WHERE “. . . chiropractors, NPs, and PAs and [sic] reading X-rays and CTs now as hospitals use them to replace radiologists.”

Thanks for this referral, Doug! Going to buy the book this weekend. Now I have two heroes, you AND Dr. Bernard! Like with the world of the woke, it’s time we fight this, all of us. Boots on the ground.
