Lewiston, My Heart Is With You
I worked in Lewiston for 15 years until I left to come to Virginia. Lewiston/Auburn was where I lived and where my kids grew up. I already know someone who was killed last night. I am contacting as many as I can for updates. I loved these people (friends, coworkers, patients, etc). Please say a prayer for these people.
I also heard that Central Maine Medicine Center (where I worked) really came together to do an incredible job for the wounded. I am proud of all the healthcare workers there.
For those, like me, who don’t follow any of the MSM, Lewiston is in Maine.
Ahhh, Doug said he worked there BEFORE he went to Virginia. I don’t think he construed that Lewiston was in Virginia.
There are a lot of Lewiston’s out there though.
Forgive me for not also considering the effects of this evil on the local medical community…….likely already already overburdened…..
The barbarity of the human race cannot be underestimated. These situations will never end. Too bad people do not understand that the Second Amendment was written in a different time when weaponry was very simple- muzzle loaders! Are the police paid enough to go after vicious killers like this? Is our justice system equipped to handle criminals like this? There are too many nut jobs running around and everybody needs a mental health evaluation along with stress relief education.
Respectfully, I think this is an essay you could write on another day, but we should defer opining for the moment. Truly a tragic time.
