And the Heroes Get Fired
Let me start this off by saying, again, that I am vaccinated and pro-vaccine. Got it? I am very concerned about the slippery slope of firing workers who were once heralded as heroes if they choose not to be vaccinated. For one, we really need some control over what we are mandated to do. Second, if the worker had CV19 then she may have even better immunity than with the vaccine.
There are going to be thousands of workers out of a job soon. Many of these will be healthcare workers. The hospitals already are skimping on staff due to finances (or greed). Things are going to get really bad here. What may be worse, however, is the loss of democracy. There has to be a better way.
What do you think?
Do your concerns apply to all vaccine mandates for health care workers, or just the COVID vaccines?
See the part about past h/o CV19 infection.
Why is an unvaccinated person any concern. If you are vaxxed you are in no danger,if you already had it ,you are in less danger. BOGUS ARGUMENT!!! No scientific reason to insist on Vaccination…
100 million have had it, 150 million had the Vax 250 mil out of 330mil.. No mandate is required and if you follow the science you do not give the vaccine to anyone under 45 years old, maybe under 65 unless they have immune system problems Diabetes hypertension,obesity.. Based on studies and SCIENCE.. Not politics.
Seen the studies talking about recurring cancer, stopping the in CD8, TOLL LIKE RECEPTORS, TLR2 ,3, 7 which help us detect abnormal cells and virus particles to activate our immune response yet the vaccine might interfere with it/ our immune response..
You all call yourselves Doctors, you are trained in the Scientific Method, but you cannot stand up for What is right… The older I get The more I like cats and dogs. So many humans keep living down below my expectations to just do what is Right….Especially PHYSICIANS.. No wonder you have lost control of the BUSINESS OF MEDICINE.. Takes GUTS TO GET IT BACK. ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY?
Isn’t this a perfect example of cutting off your nose to spite your face? We are worried about overrunning the capacity of hospitals and we voluntarily reduce that capacity by firing the very people who can help the most? Ludicrous! More examples of virtue signaling although I’m not sure what virtue is being signaled.
I totally agree with you. It’s getting a little crazy. If there is an antibody/titer test that can confirm immunity, whether from vaccination or from having had covid, that should suffice for employment. Where I get frustrated is when people want to use their religion as an exemption. There are no such religious exemptions. When you work in medicine, you agree to work when you are scheduled. There are no religious exemptions. You can’t always have Sunday off. Or Saturday night. Or whenever your religion meets. You know this going in. So now all of a sudden people are making up all these”religious” excuses for not getting the vaccination. We all make choices in life. We can only control our own thoughts, words, and deeds. We can’t control anyone else. When an employer sets out rules, your choice is to follow them, or get another job. Why do so many people believe that employers should always change for their personal whims. Why didn’t these people all quit when most of the medical universe began requiring you to be vaccinated for the flu? It seems to be more of a political stunt than a philosophical or ethical or even scientific reason for not being vaccinated.
HCW’s have lost their jobs for refusing the flu vaccine, and there are have been years of efforts to pass legislation at the state level to protect HCW choice re vaccine mandates.
As for your comments about religion…is your position then that people with certain religious beliefs should not be HCW’S?
