Will I be replaced by AI?
If you haven’t tried ChatGPT, give it a visit.

So, I asked Chat GPT:
Will AI replace doctors?
Answer: “No, AI will not replace doctors….Doctors and AI will likely continue to work together in the
future to provide the best possible care for patients.”
Hmmm…. Just what I’d expect it to say so I turn my back and it kills me…
I’m looking forward to the militant NP and PA “Big LELT” lobby arguing that they can do 90% of the common tasks that AI can do.
Meanwhile, doctors should all just certify each other for disability and jump the hell off the train.
Or hang in there to retirement if aged close. I left at age 64 and used the COBRA insurance for medical coverage. Hospital paid for it as I loyally practiced in the area for 34 years and the parting was respectfully mutual. Office work, hospital work and taking call gets harder to do as one ages. I am so much better off retired and am better rested now.
I would prefer AI to algorithms that are “published as guidelines” and some clerk then grades my quality of care based on them. The guidelines are all written by committees of nurses, pharmacists, executives, and providers – only a few doctors, and none of whom had seen an actual patient in a decade. AI at least knows it’s not a real doctor and admits it.
