A New Blood Pressure Med
A new blood pressure med is coming. It was approved based on a four week study. It reduced blood pressure. That was its effect in total. Blood pressure management was taking a blood pressure, starting the daily med, and checking blood pressure in 4 weeks.
I suggest a 50 cent similar treatment. Not 50 cents a day. 50 cents. And we get to still create a billable event with an E&M code, although it will be best to collect the copay before the visit.
Have a patient with high blood pressure? Check the number, shoot them in the head with a bullet – and 9 mm bullets are about 50 cents each. Check the blood pressure in 4 weeks. I strongly suggest the blood pressure reduction will be superior to the fancy new expensive med.
Drawbacks:
The smell in the office will be problematic.
The mortality will be almost assuredly higher in the bullet treated group.
