How Are Hospitals Doing with the Transparency Price Rule?
It turns that most hospitals don’t want to list their prices:
About 55% of hospitals have yet to comply with the Hospital Price Transparency Final Rule, which went into effect at the beginning of 2021, researchers report.
Is anyone surprised?
We have a healthcare system that is built on the premise of NOT being transparent. Imagine a product where you charge 10 people different prices depending on absolutely no criteria at all?
Direct Primary Care is one of the only transparent medical products right now. If people want transparency then they need to embrace DPC so that it spreads far and wide.

I had PT recently. I asked the therapist what the fee is after my insurance coverage ran out. She would only tell me: depends. This was at a major hospital.
The same hospitals that failed to comply with this law. I bet still demand their medical staff jump through meaningless hoops to comply with all sorts of regulations, whether federal or medical staff. Make these hospitals regulations be unenforceable until they comply. Furthermore, the idea that medical privileges requires unpaid call needs to be abolished. In a system where nurse practitioners compete and do the same procedures and treatments as physicians and are not mandated to provide this unpaid labor, this should no longer be allowed. In a system where HMOs dictate payment, this should no longer be allowed. Hospital should be forced to negotiate for call coverage or employ the physician but not mandate free labor and then abuse them.
